[RECAP & PICTURES] Dog Blood at New City Gas

This past weekend, Dog Blood chose New City Gas as their venue of choice to give Boys Noize, Skrillex, and general EDM lovers an exclusive North American club show to be remembered. The crowd raged all night to the unique mix of progressive electronic and techno Boys Noize vibe, mixed with Skrillex’s infamous aggressive dubby-wubby trademark sound. Considering that Dog Blood was established just over a year ago, the turnout was awesome and their music couldn’t have attracted a better fan base. Towards the end of the set, Dog Blood had the entire crowd singing “In the Air Tonight- Phil Collins”, and New City Gas was illuminated with lighters and cellphones as if we had been at a rock show. This was such a unique way to end the night because it was a chilling contrast to the rest of the show, and really brought together the crowd- creating a sense of unity and togetherness with Dog Blood.

For people who aren’t specifically Skrillex or Boys Noize fans, or maybe just aren’t totally familiar with their music, I still recommend listening to Dog Blood’s SoundCloud https://soundcloud.com/dogblood and grabbing a ticket to one of their shows for a night of incredible talent and a wicked vibe that not all artists can bring to the stage. Once again New City Gas, you blew my mind- and it wasn’t just something in the air that night.

Until next time,
Aleks Dj.
