10 Things That Make The New StereoBar Better Than Every Other Club In Montreal
Montreal consistently finds itself at the top of many tourists’ “go-to” cities when looking for the best nightlife experience. With a wide range of restaurants, bars and clubs, the city has gained a reputation of hosting the wildest parties, many of them going on until the early hours of the morning.
And if you’re one of those lucky few people who have stayed awake long enough to experience one of Montreal’s many afterhour venues, you’ve certainly spent hours dancing to the infectious house beats vibrating within the walls of Stereo Afterhours.

Located in Montreal’s gay village, Stereo is considered by many as North America’s “meccah” of house & techno music. Boasting an impressive roster of DJs, both local and international, Stereo has cemented it’s place as one of the most interesting and exciting experiences of Montreal’s eccentric nightlife. And with the revival of StereoBar, an old concept being brought back to life by the owners of Stereo Afterhours, it looks like there is going to be a new powerhouse nightclub on the Montreal scene. Open between the hours of 10pm and 3am, StereoBar is Stereo’s take on what the perfect clubbing experience should be. Here are 10 things that make StereoBar different than every other club in Montreal:

1- NO BOTTLE SERVICE
StereoBar was created upon the same principle as Stereo: everyone that walks in is considered equal. If you think buying a bottle for your group of friends will get you into the club faster – think again. StereoBar does not offer bottle service. What it does offer is a beautiful bar where you can mingle with the beautiful Montreal crowd or dance the night away to some of the best house music the city has to offer.
2-NO BAD ATTITUDE
StereoBar explicitly asks you to leave your bad attitude at the door and bring with you nothing but good vibes. Like the afterhours club that inspired it, StereoBar is all about forgetting your worries, immersing yourself in the vibe and having the best night possible – every time you go.
3-NO GLOWSTICKS
Leave your glowsticks at home kids – StereoBar doesn’t want for there to be anything distracting you from the music and the environment.
4-NO CAMERAS
StereoBar inherits one of the rules that has been enforced at Stereo for years. Cameras are not allowed at StereoBar, which means you can give your full attention to the music and the people dancing around you. And let’s not forget that making memories are far more valuable than a million pictures.

At Stereo, it’s all about the music, and taking pictures inside the club is not permitted. StereoBar is looking to enforce this rule.
5-NO RESERVATIONS
This rule brings us back to the idea that at StereoBar, everyone is treated equally. This means that no reservations can be made. With all of the hype surrounding StereoBar’s big opening, the place is bound to be full every friday and saturday night. If you wanna ensure you get in before the line gets too long (because it will), you better make sure you get there early.
6-NO TABLE SERVICE
No bottle service? No table service either. While this may sound like an odd tactic for a nightclub to adopt, it adds to the uniqueness of the vibe that StereoBar is trying to create. Regardless of how much money you’re willing to spend, the club does not privilege anyone. Everyone is welcome to have a good time.
7-The Location
StereoBar allows people who are looking to continue the party after closing-time to do so without much effort. Located at 856 Ste. Catherine E., it is literally right next door to Stereo Afterhours. Discounted prices will probably be offered to people who have purchased a ticket for an event at the afterhours.
8- The sound system
Stereo Afterhours boasts one of the best analog sound systems in the world. Those who have been, know that music just sounds so much more crisp and vibrant at Stereo. So it’s no surprise that the owners of StereoBar decided it should share the same sound system. For those looking to hear music like they’ve never heard it before, you should definitely go check it out.
9-The management
The owners of Stereo and StereoBar have over 20 years of experience in the industry. These are people with a real passion for what they do, and they are some of the best in the business. The production at Stereo is impeccable, and I can imagine the owners will bring this same attention to detail at StereoBar. Expect to see some big things happening there in the upcoming weeks.

Stereo Afterhours is one of the most attractive nightclubs you’ll ever go to.
10-The DJs
We’ve left the best one for last. Everybody knows that music is one one of the most important ingredients to a successful night out, which is why the lineup is always carefully selected at Stereo to demonstrate only the best talents in the world. StereoBar will be booking some of the hottest names in underground house and techno. On Friday, they hosted a private event featuring Israeli Dj Chaim, who has graced the decks of clubs such as Fabric in London and Panorama Bar in Germany, as well as local talent Ostrich. Tonight, attendees will be grooving to the sounds of Jay London, resident Dj at Velvet Speakeasy and Circus Afterhours, as well Iranian/Canadian deep house Dj Amirali.

Jay London will be opening for Amirali at StereoBar on Saturday, May 24th, 2014.
