Montreal is known for having great food, an amazing nightlife scene and unique weekend activities.
These qualities attract many international artists and celebrities to our wonderful city, so we decided to hit the streets with international trance DJ producer, Ben Gold.
The british artist recently spent a few months in Montreal and had the opportunity to experience what the city has to offer, giving us a look at some of his favourite hot spots and eateries.
First Stop Le Gourmet Burger
After meeting up, our first stop was Le Gourmet Burger, a small burger joint in the heart of downtown Montreal (1433B rue Bishop), where we invited Ben to make his own burger. He choose a double beef patty, brie cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce.
If the Habs would’ve won, I would’ve brought a Habs flag with me to New City Gas and worn it during my set. The fans would of loved it!

Next Up Les Terrasses Bonsecours
We then continued our afternoon in the old port of Montreal and hit up the well-known Terrasses Bonsecours for some sangria by the water. Ben enjoyed the live violinist accompanying the DJ, as well as the laid-back ambiance and the refreshing drinks.
During a show once someone asked me if I wanted to do a jager shot and I said yes but, in fact, he asked me if I wanted a bottle of jaeger; I really should keep the monitors volume in the booth down!

Stop #3 Piknic Electronik
Later in the day, we brought Ben to his very first Piknic Electronik at Parc Jean Drapeau. He was very surprised to see how many people showed up to the weekly outdoors music event.
This is the first picnic I’ve ever gone to without actually having a picnic.

To Finish The Day: Poutineville
Later in the evening we headed to Poutineville, one of Ben’s favorite poutine spots in the city. He ordered a custom poutine with fried mashed potatoes, brie cheese, filet mignon and homemade gravy, and then suggested we try the fried mars bar, one of Poutineville’s classic desserts.
I love it here. They have these paintings of London hanging on the wall and it feels like I’m right back at home.
