Cooking The Perfect Piece Of Meat Is An Art Form Mastered By Le Vieux-Port Steakhouse

Meat grilled to perfection in the heart of Montreal’s Old Port!

A perfectly cooked steak is always on your mind when you’re looking for an elegant sit-down meal.

Cooking the perfect piece of meat is an art that Le Vieux-Port Steakhouse has mastered. Last month they celebrated their 31st anniversary in the old port of Montreal, a testimony to their success.

Between their expertise in the kitchen and the great service, an elegant experience from start to finish is what awaits you.

Located at 39 Saint-Paul East in the Old Port, the authentic yet elegant decor is where you can enjoy succulent Canadian beef in all its glory. The restaurant is one of the city’s landmarks and these are the 9 dishes you won’t regret ordering while dinning at Le Vieux-Port Steakhouse.

  • Salmon tartare

A classic, but oh so refreshing. We’re going French bistro on this one, with a nice hint of lemon and some chives. Order it as a side dish or tapas.

  • Beet and goat cheese salad

Beetroots and goat cheese is a match made in heaven. The top-quality goat cheese is nicely complimented by the aragula, the grapes and the walnuts. The sweet raspberry vinaigrette also balances very well with the richness of the cheese.

  • Beef tenderloin carpaccio

Carpaccio that melts into your mouth. The meat is tender and comes with fresh aragula, parmesan, and a truffle vinaigrette for a very distinct but elevated taste.

Steakhouse specialties

No matter the cut you decide to order, you are guaranteed a premium quality piece of meat that will make your mouth water. The tenderness of the steak does justice to the restaurant’s reputation.

  • Fresh lobster

Boiled or grilled, the freshness of this dish is mind-blowing. Letting the original flavour shine, nothing beats a lobster that’s cooked on the spot and accompanied by a delightful aromatic butter sauce.

  • Miso-glazed black cod

For a different flavour profile, an Asian inspired dish (most probably inspired by Chef Ding T from their sister restaurant Kyo Bar Japonais). The cook on the fish is on point, preserving its delicate taste and texture. A splendid piece of cod coated in a sweet miso glaze will take your palate on a journey.

  • Crème brûlée

There is no better way to finish an amazing meal than with dessert. The crème brûlée is burned right in front of you with Grand Marnier. The flavour of the cognac mixed with the sweetness of the custard gives the classic dessert a refined edge.

Will you head out to Vieux-Port Steakhouse to try a delicious cut of meat?
