Montreal’s Jacques Cartier Bridge Is Getting A New Outdoor Bar & Beach

A Montreal-based organization has taken the opportunity to give life to one of Montreal’s most beloved landmarks, the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

A Montreal-based organization, the ADUQ, with the help of the borough of Ville-Marie, will be installing an outdoor bar and beach right next to the beloved Jacques-Cartier bridge. The soon-to-be hotspot will be called “Le Village Éphémère.”

The area is currently an empty vacant lot.

Other than being a spot for a outdoor bar and beach, it will become a recreational space that will mainly be used as a spot to admire the firework shows of Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec. Le Village Éphémère will also host cultural activities, a handful of food trucks, sporting events and art happenings.

According to ADUQ, the space will be open until the end of August, during days when the fireworks of Les Grands Feux Loto-Québec are painting the sky.

Le Village Éphémère will open their doors, this Friday, on the 20th of June 2014.
