Piknic Électronik Releases Wave 1 of Lineup For This Summer

After a long wait, the summer lineup for Piknic Électronik is officially out and fairly impressive.

If you’ve stayed for any period of the summer setting in Montreal, then you’ve hopefully attended Piknic Électronik. The longest running summer festival in Montreal attends to a diverse taste of musical preferences.

Located at Parc Jean-Drapeau on St. Helen Island, the Piknic Électronik festival grounds offer two stages of different music. The unique monument centred on the dance floor is critical to the Piknic experience.

The festival runs  every Sunday from 2pm to 11pm and from May 17th to September 27th this year. One time entry fee costs $10 before 3pm and 15$ afterwards, occasionally going longer past midnight.

The season passes originally start at $70 for tier one, but are going for $100 at tier two. University students are also able to purchase a student pass, which is set at $75.

Piknic Électronik is making its presence heard all over the world. Recently the summer festival has opened in Dubai, Melbourne, Barcelona, and Paris. There is an intended mission to reach ten Piknic Électronik parties in ten major cities.

Last summer saw performances from Bob Moses, Cashmere Cat, Jamie XX, Tommy Kruise, and more. This summer the schedule is stretched to a limit as there are a bursting amount of new acts.

Easily a highlight from Wave 1 of the lineup announcement is Maya Jane Coles, who is playing the opening Piknic weekend. She is a legend in her own right for making deep and moving music.

Other highlights include Kill Frenzy, Mano Le Tough, Scuba, Jesse Rose, and Jacques Greene. Check out the full lineup below in the official press video. This season promises a bountiful amount of positivity with new artists and local musicians who will play to impress in a summer setting.
