5 Things To Do While Waiting In Line For A Show
Pulling up to the venue and seeing the endless line of people is never a fun thing, especially when you know you’ll have to join them. To make time go by faster, the obvious choice would be to rely on games on your smartphone, but it tends to block you out from the concert vibes. Put down the phone and try to make the best of the unfortunate situation; that way you don’t waste your battery, which will leave your phone charged and ready to capture some amazing moments!
1- Make new friends
These fans behind you in line may become your next concert buddies! As silly as it sounds, starting a conversation with the person next to you can lead to awesome results such as meeting new interesting people and becoming friends. Getting to know people who share similar interests with you will make time fly.
2- Organize and be ready
That one is for the ladies. It isn’t ideal to arrive face to face with the security guard and begin to look for your ID in the bottomless pit that is your purse. Have your ticket and your ID (if required) ready in your hands when you get close to the venue doors. It will accelerate the process and keep the line moving, which brightens everyone’s mood!
3- Be on the lookout for familiar faces
The more the merrier, right ? Keep your eyes peeled; you never know who you might run into and decide to add them to your crew. Going from a trio to a group of 7 or 8 people can intensify the experience and make it even more memorable! Sharing your passion for an artist with people you care about is a powerful thing.
4- Speculate on what song will the artist open and close with
Which song is the most epic to start the show with ? What should be played at the end to leave the crowd ecstatic ? This little game will get you and your group super pumped (if you aren’t already) and take your mind off of the whole waiting situation.
5- Plan what to do after
The event is over but the night is young! Brainstorm with your friends what location you should hit next in order to end the night on a good note. Grab a bite to refuel your body, continue the evening at an afterhour venue if you are party animals, or you can just unwind and relax at someone’s house.
