The Famous Music Academy Series Curated By Red Bull Is Touching Base In Canada Again After 9 Years Away.
Montreal is consistently known to be the boiling pot for innovative creators from within Canada and abroad. The bilingual balance and multicultural acceptance makes the city significantly unique in North America. Musicians, artists, producers, and geniuses of all kinds love Montreal for its restless nightlife.
Red Bull Music Academy is a globally organized event series that helps expose creative individuals by offering an international audience. The Music Academy has taken place in nearly every major city world wide since 1998.
The series last graced Canada in 2007 for the Toronto edition. News of Red Bull choosing Montreal for the next annual Music Academy is proof of what entices so many to Quebec’s biggest metropolis.
Essentially what takes place is a month long string of events, parties, performances, intimate workshops, lecture sessions and more. The Music Academy is held in a variety of culturally distinct locations and venues popularized by each city’s occupants. Red Bull also looks for unique locations and unusual settings where DJs play and visual projects shine.
Musicians of all genres from around the world can apply for the 2016 Montreal edition starting January 18th by visiting the official website and downloading the application page. A hard copy of each submission must also be mailed in by March 7th. More news soon to follow.
There will be a total of 70 applicants to perform this year, 10 above the usual 60 standard. It’s safe to say that Montreal is going to set the bar higher than ever for the 18th annual edition of Red Bull’s Music Academy.
