SeaSalt & Ceviche Unveils New Menu In Collaboration With Chef Marino Tavares

Whenever a restaurant chooses to collaborate with a new chef, we can’t wait to see the end result because of how excited everyone is to see both visions come together. From creative recipes to new flavour profiles, chefs working together brings a breath of fresh air to any place, and one of the old port’s trendy establishments has done it with chef Marino Tavares. Portuguese influences are to be expected now at SeaSalt & Ceviche since they brought in the renowned chef to add his personal touch to the new menu they launched.

The restaurant is known for its seafood and fish, and chef Tavares stayed true to it, keeping his focus on sea protein. The raw bar, a clients’ favorite, stays available and if you’re a meat lover that got dragged to a seafood restaurant, you will still be able to find a couple of delicious options such as a duck and mushroom risotto. Local produce, his Portuguese roots and themes such as comfort meets simplicity inspire the whole menu. The latter is signed Marino Tavares and will be executed by chef Rob Leonard.

The freshness of the produce is notable, but the fish and seafood quality speaks for itself. It is a given, especially if the establishment claims to specialize in this type of cuisine, but it’s always reassuring to hear about it from time to time to confirm that it’s still a priority to the restaurant.

To pair with this new menu is a new cocktail card courtesy of Sabrina Natale, head bartender at S&C, and a Grey Goose mixologist. You will find aromas and bitters working hand in hand to create intricate and refined recipes to satisfy your taste buds – a nice blend of alcohol, fruits and herbs. We’ve never had a berry and star anise martini before and it was exquisite. They also offer virgin cocktails that are far from boring compared to other restaurants that tend to serve you juice with lemon.

Located at 351 Place Royale in the old port, SeaSalt & Ceviche is a good option to keep in mind for a date, a night out with friends, or a big celebration. The restaurant morphs into a party until 3AM on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays thanks to guest DJs and the stunning two terraces open during summer.

If you’re in need of a more private option, there is a gorgeous private room called the Sunset Room designed by the Gauley Brothers, able to accommodate 70 people in a sit down set up. The Miami vibe will catch your eye in the best possible way, with all the plants and the delicate pink onyx bar decorating the room. Group menus are available upon request.
