The 10 Best EDM Songs of 2014 Released So Far

2013 turned into a huge year for EDM with the likes of Hardwell, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Sebastian Ingrosso and Fedde le Grand continuing to pump out the hits and the emerge of new stars like Martin Garrix, Julian Jordan, Jay Hardway, Thomas Newson and Borgeous combining to bring us hit after hit.




Following on from this, 2014 has already produced some great EDM tunes and with the summer festival season about to kick off, Canada Nightlife takes a look at some of the best EDM tracks of 2014…so far!

1. Martin Garrix & Firebeatz – Helicopter

This is the young Dutchman’s second entry on the list as he teams up with Dutch duo Firebeatz to bring a high-energy anthem that you’ll be hearing all summer long. Garrix continues to push the envelope with his sound and with more collaborations set for later this year with the likes of Afrojack, Sander van Doorn and Dillon Francis, the sky is the limit for the 17-year-old.

2. Armin van Buuren & Andrew Rayel – Eiforya

Following on from a massive 2013 that included the global hit This Is What It Feels Like, Armin van Buuren returns to the sound that made him famous with the release of Eiforya, an anthem for trance fans that is ready for strong run at the upcoming summer festivals.

3. Hardwell – Everybody Is In the Place

When it comes to EDM, there was no bigger name then Hardwell in 2013 and he has returned with another strong house tune to start off 2014. He first premiered this song on his I Am Hardwell tour last year as the opening track and it really sets the tone for a Hardwell set. It will have you jumping from the beginning and it is a track we can’t get enough of.

4. Sander van Doorn & Firebeatz – Guitar Track

Sander van Doorn returns after a strong 2013 and teams up with Dutch duo Firebeatz to bring a very unique track. The Dutch threesome team up to bring a track with a bit of everything, including van Doorn’s signature mixing and Firebeatz high energy sound to produce one of the anthem’s for summer festivals.

5. Dannic – Dear Life (feat. Bright Lights)

Dannic once again returns with his signature sound and has added vocals for the first time to one of his tracks to bring a song that will be on repeat all summer. The addition of Heather Bright, aka Bright Lights, brings an angelic sound to this house hit that has been getting plays for some of the top DJ’s around the world already.

6. Dimitri Vegas, Martin Garrix & Like Mike – Tremor (Sensation 2014 Anthem)

Following on from a huge 2013, Martin Garrix returns with his biggest track yet, this time joining forces with Belgian heavyweights Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Tremor combines Garrix’s high-energy with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s big room to sound to bring a summer festival anthem of epic proportions.

7. Futuristic Polar Bears – Back to Life

British trio Futuristic Polar Bears are the latest edition to Hardwell’s every growing revealed records and for their first release they’ve brought a big room sound that that is suitable for the dance floor and primed for a big run at festivals this summer.

8. 3LAU – How You Love Me (feat. Bright Lights)

Following from his collaboration with Paris & Simo Escape, 3LAU once again teams up with vocalist Bright Lights to bring another strong progressive house track. Bright’s top line is amazing and 3LAU is able to put it all together to bring an intense and emotional track that is ready for the clubs and festivals.

9. Gareth Emery – U (feat. Bo Bruce)

The lead single off of Emery’s latest release, Drive, U brings together Emery’s distinct sound and a strong top line, from British singer Bo Bruce, to produce an addictive song that is ready for radio play as well as festival play.

10. Borgeous – Invincible

Following off from his hit collaboration Tsunami with Canadian duo DVBBS, Borgeous returns with a pin backed progressive house hit to breakout as a solo artist. Invincible is a serious change of pace from the American’s previous hit but with the addition of impressive vocals by Julia Michaels, he has produced one of the best tracks to date this year.

So that’s our top 10 here at Canada Nightlife! 2014 has only just begun and with huge hits being worked on by some of the world’s top DJ’s still to be release, it is only going to get better from here for fans of EDM.
