This RFID Wristband Is How You’re Going To Buy Food & Drinks At Piknic Electronik
Piknic Electronik just got smarter
If you live in Montreal, you know that Piknic Electronik is the place to be on a sunday afternoon.
The mini-festival setting is home to dozens of amazing artists and it keeps attracting tons of people every week. Already successful, the masterminds behind the event are always looking for new ways to push the envelope in order to bring you the best possible experience, so say hello to the digital payment concept.

As of this Sunday, August 24th, all transactions on the site will be digital thanks to the chip that will be in the wristband or season pass. After walking in, Piknicers will head over to one of the two stations to load their wristband or season pass with virtual money using debit, credit or cash, or charging it via the Piknic app!
Montreal-based company Intellitix is the world leader in digital payment technology, which is a result of being the first ones to use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in big events like Coachella, Bonnaroo, Tomorrowland and the Festival d’été de Québec. For this Montreal project, they will work hand in hand with no other than Videotron Mobile.
The system is safe and practical, which is why it has been used in various festivals such as Digital Dreams and Electric Zoo. The bracelet acts as your wallet while you’re on site, which will prevent losses and increase speed at bars and food stands, all thanks to one simple scan!
