5 Simple Reasons To Go To Ottawa’s Escapade Music Festival This Summer
Escapade Music Festival presented by Heineken is coming closer to another successful launch.
Ottawa’s largest electronic music event takes place for it’s sixth annual year this June 27th and 28th.
The festival is located at the Rideau Carleton Entertainment Centre, a massive arena that is capable of hosting the thousands of festival attendees.
Our team of writers have followed the festival throughout last years madness and intend to provide full festival coverage in 2015.
While you wait for the end of June, check out a list of 5 crucial reasons that will make the festival so spectacular this season.
1) 3 Hour Sets From 3 Headliners
The most shocking surprise revealed about 2015’s lineup is that there will be longer DJ sets from three famous headliners. Markus Schulz, Carl Cox, and Mark Knight will all play three hour-long performances, a stretch of time unheard of in the summertime festival season.
Each major headliner will also curate their own stage; Coldharbour, Carl Cox and Friends, and Toolroom Live respectively. The three stages will host a series of artists who are familiar to a specific headliner’s label.
2) Summertime Sunshine
Escapade Festival happens in the dead centre of summer stretching out over two days total. The bright rays of sunshine provide a perfect setting for thousands of people to dance and socialize under. Hopefully the weather proves reliable again this year, but it’s always best to come prepared for any conditions.
The crowd always seems to grow in the best way possible while the sun sets! The majestical movement into nighttime makes any festival goer that much more awake.
3) The Light Show
The luminescent display of lasers, fireworks, and a LED screen puts July 1st to shame. The artistic team behind the festivals layout and curation guarantee a stunning turn out this year. Escapade’s pyro-technicians are able to create impressive nighttime allures for both dates.
The bright display at main stage Escapade keeps the insomniacs awake and gives your tired friends a reason to stick around.

4) International Support
The official list of musicians performing during this year’s festivities is incredible. The lineup boasts a series of electronic, trance, house, and progressive producers, all whom have made a notable impression in 2015 already. You can see the complete lineup below.
Tommy Trash’s appreciation for Canada is well known and apparent because of his multiple tour stops in the country every year. Fortunately there is one Australian DJ this year, Hook N Sling! On top of that, there are Norwegian, Danish, Swiss, Dutch, German, English, French, American, and Canadian acts to maintain a level of diversity.
5) A lot of Canadian Love
Consider the fact that Escapade occurs just days before Canada Day and takes place in the capital city. It seems only logical that there is an abundance of Canadian pride shown off in colourful attire.
While flags may be a symbol of individual nationalism across festivals in Europe, Canadians do things differently by uniting together with one uniform banner. The countless pictures of Escapade attendees waving Canadian flags sticks out vividly.

Even artists from outside the country show their affection for the Canadian flag! Carnage sharing his support sticks out as a highlight from last year’s event.

You can take a look at the full festival lineup below to help validate the festival’s credibility! There is a surplus of house and trance artists with positive breaks of deep house and electro music.
