Produktworld takes place during September 3rd to 6th this year on the long labour day weekend. 2015 marks the festival’s fourth anniversary and as the event grows larger in reputation it stretches over four days.
The event is one of New City Gas’s largest yearly parties with a mix of visual arts, carnival aesthetics, flame fanatics, and a diverse lineup of musicians. Produktworld takes the venue into a completely new world and atmosphere to create a unique festival experience in Montreal’s south port.
With over a dozen DJs confirmed to play across the four days, it’s best to have a clear idea of the acts coming before deciding whether to go. Here are five of the top performers playing in Produktworld who have new music, experience with the venue, and a taste for something stranger…
1. Bro Safari
If there is anyone certified enough to take on the Safe in Sound headline position, it is surely Bro Safari. His impressive performances are loved for their ability to make the crowd go crazy, seen just last year during the summer. It is nice to see the memorable moombah musician play in part of Produktworld’s starting day.
2. BOTNEK
BOTNEK consists of two male Montrealers who know how to party under any live situation. The sheer energy and attitude that they bring to their live sets is always on point. Whenever Montreal musicians return home after an extended period as well, you can count on a warm and welcoming celebration.
3. Zomboy
Zomboy’s amazing attitude and skills behind the decks with just a laptop cannot be contested. His earlier performance this year at New City Gas left his fans in a blur with drop after drop from his latest remix LP Resurrected. The return of the renowned bass musician will be well greeted with open arms and scowling bass faces.
4. Figure
Figure’s DIY attitude to practically all of his music makes this name one of the most impressive artists on Produktworld’s roaster. The bass producer is renowned in the dubstep community and continually releases remixes and originals to the ongoing satisfaction of his fans. With an upcoming 17 track album freshly released, you can expect to hear a massive amount of brand new goodies.
5. Mark Knight
Mark Knight’s legendary position as the founder of Toolroom Records helps keep his fans constantly happy with each release. He is no name at New City Gas with a Toolroom Live contract to host him and his label’s artists all year round. After countless encounter with the talented DJ it is safe to say that we’re all in for an extended set on the final day of Produktworld.
