11 years later Nick Farkas books Radiohead to headline Osheaga

Nick Farkas; a man who never gives up on a dream.

Yesterday, Evenko revealed this summer’s much anticipated lineup for Osheaga Music Festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

Rumours have been circulating for the past few weeks that Radiohead was going to be a headliner but nothing had been confirmed by Evenko. Until yesterday that is.

In an interview with Canoe, Nick Farkas (Vice-President of Concerts & Events @ Evenko) revealed a few details about the negotiations that ensued while securing such a high profile headliner to play at his festival.

The team behind Osheaga had been trying to book the group since their first edition back in 2006 (11 years ago). Every year offers we’re made but a deal was never struck. That is until this year when Nick Farkas secured the group back in September of 2015, right when he started planning the lineup for summer 2016. He goes on to say “to have that giant piece (Radiohead) in place took a lot of pressure off. There was a lot of high-fiving in the office that day“.

As per usual, a few more performances will be confirmed as the festival approaches.
