The Story Behind Beach Club’s All-New Tropical Paradise Just Outside Montreal
Beach Club’s recent renovations have transformed the venue into a tropical paradise.
The summer sun and massive crowds are a perfect match for the new setting located at Pointe-Calumet. There is a capacity just over 10,000 solely counting the sand surface, but the shallow water surrounding the venue provides another mass space.
The new wooden decks and pristine swimming area are inspired by a Miami styled subterranean pool. Beach Club has literally been turned into a unique establishment unmatched in the Montreal industry.
The new owners are brothers named Olivier and Julien, and hail from Sainte-Martine. CanadaNightlife’s crew caught up with Olivier at Beach Club to hear more about how this project started and took off.
After a trip to Ultra Music Festival in Miami, the brothers were inspired. They decided they wanted to create a new experience for Montrealers.
The brothers are working in parallel with Pierre Touchette, the original founder of Beachclub to ensure a proper transition over the next 3 years.
According to Olivier, the biggest challenge was changing Beach Club’s prior reputation into something entirely new. They’ve spent a massive amount of time online using social media to help rebuild the brand’s recognition.
Since the opening weekend with Dada Life, the brothers have heard nothing but positive feedback. The general response is first shock and then appreciation for the new look.
Hardwell’s upcoming show on Sunday is predicated to set a new record for Beach Club’s biggest attendance. After performing to a mass of Montreal fans last summer, the Dutch DJ will return as a king to his followers in an all-new tropical paradise.
Olivier is most excited for Tiesto’s performance because he has been a serious fan of the producer for years. Tiesto is a legend in his own realm and is frequently considered one of the most successful electronic musicians.
Essentially what I managed to take away from my first visit to the renovated Beach Club is that there is something for everyone. The new owners are looking to attract everyone to the new site and have made all the right efforts in promoting the new brand.
There are several VIP areas, a large wooden floor for people to dance, the beach for people to vibe out, a swimming pool for those who want to socialize, and even lawn chairs for tanning. This tropical paradise feels out of the ordinary, it’s almost too good to be true. Fortunately it’s real!
Olivier wrapped up our friendly discussion by advising us with his alcoholic preference of Champagne, Jägermeister, or a gin and tonic with lime. Well Olivier, cheers to good a summer!
Keep track of Beach Club all summer long as they bring in major DJs every Sunday.
