[RECAP] Beach Club + New City Gas With Size Matters

In a very special collaboration this past Sunday, the renowned and spectacular venue New City Gas joined forces with the well-established sexy summer getaway spot Le Beach Club. In a very rare partnership, these two venues brought the reputable Steve Angello, former member of everyone’s favourite group Swedish House Mafia, with additional appearances from members of his record label, Size Records, along with other major names.

Located just a half an hour out of the city, Le Beach Club created quite the opening weekend with Size Records artists Junior Sanchez, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and founder Steve Angello. Steve’s incredibly energetic and killer performance was followed by a performance from Dutch duo Bingo Players. Fans braved the rain and wind to enjoy all the performances into the early evening, while also having a chance to drink, relax and enjoy the music from the sandy beach.

The party continued well into the night downtown in the city at New City Gas who held a sold out showcase for the Size Matters tour members including Max Vangelli, Junior Sanchez and closing the event with none other than Steve Angello. This was my fourth time seeing Steve in the last year and once again he did not fail to impress the largest and craziest New City crowd I have ever seen since their opening in June of last year. Many comments were made about the unforgettable lightshow and the crowd left covered in confetti with nothing but smiles on their faces.

Safe to say this past Victoria Day weekend collaboration between the two biggest venues in Montreal left us all very impressed and looking forward to the future. As the EDM scene continues to grow, so does the excitement for what both venues have in store, especially with the upcoming one year anniversary of the opening of New City Gas’ in June. The anniversary celebration will include yet another member of the Swedish House Mafia crew, Sebastian Ingrosso, who will be making his well-anticipated New City Gas debut during Montreal’s infamous Grand Prix Weekend. Tickets are on sale now.

Cheers

Taylor
