Ottawa’s 2015 Bluesfest Official Lineup Is Out, and Lookin’ Good
From country stars to rappers, this year’s festival has tunes to fit every ears’ demands.
Festival season is approachin people! And this summer’s Bluesfest is looking quite promising.
This year’s Bluesfest will take place from July 8th to July 19th in the Lebreton Flats Park in Ottawa.
The lineup was leaked Monday, startling the event organizers, as they planned to have it public Tuesday March 24th. Nevertheless, we aren’t complaining!
This summer’s lineup includes big names like Iggy Azalea, Nas, Milky Chance, country music stars Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town and Johnny Reid. You can also expect some legend rock stars like Deep Purple, Lynyrd Skynyrd and canadian rockers, The Tragically Hip.
Tickets to the event go on presale this Thursday, March 26th, at 10 a.m. The presale will include Full Festival passes, Pick-3 passes and Youth Festival Wristbands. Since the festival stretches out over a few weeks, the Pick- 3 passes permit buyers to pick three festival days to attend. The Youth Festival pass is a special priced pass for youths aged 10-21. Newly legal music lovers luck out on this one. Obviously, the Full Festival pass is the way to go if every act on the lineup is your cup of tea.
Ottawa’s Bluesfest is a must for summer festivals, as it offers a unique experience for festival goers, and lovers of all musical genres. The festival grounds are located near the heart of the city, making it easy to access by Ottawa bus transportation, by bikes, cars or your own two feet!
Unlike festivals like Osheaga, the crowds at Bluesfest are less dense, creating a less chaotic vibe, but with just as much rowdiness. The musical genres expected for the festival are also quite mixed. Expect a range of different styles, with artists performing nostalgic indie rock jams, strong rap, smooth blues and charming southern-drawl filled country tunes.
The festival is known for its musical diversity. Bluesfest 2014 musical acts included Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, Bonobo, Tokyo Police Club, AWOLNATION, The Paper Kites, Tyler the Creator, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and The Band Perry. As you can see, there is no real rhyme or reason to the mix, and that’s just what we love about the musically diverse festival.
Check the dates on your calendar, call your boss, and get your tickets ASAP.
