Piknic Électronik has remained consistently busy all summer long with a committed fanbase and massive lineup!
It’s no surprise that the weekend right before schools begin there is an epic three day stretch from one of Montreal’s most popular summer festivals.
There is a variety of local talent and international support to guide the Piknic attendees in the right musical direction all weekend long.
Below is our breakdown of the three day celebration to help you figure out who is playing when and where!
Saturday, September 5th
The MOOG Audio stage on Saturday is curated with the Montreal based party-management Saintwoods. They’ve decided to bring in a bunch of local and highly popular acts to start the celebrations off. At 4:45pm Ryan Playground begins the day off with a more chilled out entrance.
The Celestics, which consists of Kaytranada and his brother Louie P, follow in order at 6:30pm before Lunice finishes the night at 8pm. The underground producer and impressive beat looper keeps his performances scattered and skills sharpened. All the action is upon the main stage with the Videotron stage closed day one.
Sunday, September 6th
The second and official Piknic Électronik session greets Misstress Barbara back to Montreal as the headliner. The female producer and renowned DJ frequently returns to the city, her home in between tours.
French musician Molly makes her debut Piknic appearance at 4:30pm to mark her techno territory. DJ Peter Anthony and Steve Aries will bring the funk back from 3pm to 7pm at the Videotron all day. The feel good vibe and consistent tempo tend to tempt the audience’s desire to dance.
Monday, September 7th
The final date plays a traditionary role on the Labour Day holiday. Samouraïs des Jungles Urbaines are the main hosts on the Monday and have brought in an outlandish lineup to conclude the three-part party.
The Martinez Brothers know how to lead a crowd into a new world of techno tracks and vibrant melodies. They’re headlining position at 7pm is definitely worth seeing since these two side by side work extremely well together.
Another notable act is chill out master CRi. who comes on at 5pm at the MOOG Audio stage. The Montreal raised musician creates another aura of music with his low-key soundscapes and complex transitions.
Piknic Électronik ends the long weekend bringing Beaux Dégâts to showcase two artists competing in a mural painting contest. The live exhibit will feature music, vocals, and narration from Construct and Ella Grave.
