5 Things We Learned At Bal En Blanc About Montrealers
If you were one of the lucky ones to attend Bal En Blanc this year, you would know how crazy of an experience it was. With a line-up made to satisfy any type of electronic music listener, the night was filled with diverse sets, amazing crowd participation, and a sea of white and neon. The famous ‘White Party’has for many years been a spectacle for Montrealers, but this year we realized a few things:
1. Montreal Has Great Taste In Music
With three stages set to feel like completely different and isolated experiences, Bal En Blanc proved that Montreal residents have high standards when it comes to their tastes. Granted, with literally some of the best in the game set to perform, it was amazing to witness people moving between stages so freely. The transitions almost felt seamless, and the crowd moved at the same pace as those performing. When you can look to both your left and right, and see people singing as passionately as you are, it’s pretty amazing.
2. Montrealers Love To Get Creative
When you are limited to one colour palette for an event, it’s always interesting to see how people will approach adding that next layer of creativity to their outfit. And trust me, event goers proved that making a creative outfit is as integral to the experience as the music is itself.
3. Montreal Know How To Party
This is pretty self-explanatory, but people raged their faces off. Since Bal En Blanc is an overnight event, you know people who attend are ready for the long haul. This isn’t a place for those who aren’t serious about the music, and everyone in attendance managed to let their inhibitions go and had an amazing time. Also, regardless of age, people seemed to come together on a dance floor and find common ground. Talk about loving the music first!
4.We Support Local Talent
With such a wide variety of acts performing, it was beautiful to see how many people made sure to attend the earlier set times for acts like Paris & Simo, who represented Montreal proudly.
5.Montreal Is Filled With Beautiful People
I found myself smiling with the amount of beautiful people in that crowd. Even a simple smile can drastically change the way we see each other, and you could instantly tell how happy everyone was.
