5 Artists That Made Osheaga Amazing This Year
1. Lorde
This astonishing seventeen year old was the second last performance on Sunday and surprised everybody. Her talent on stage was unmatched in character, as almost every body who stood before Lorde while the sun set seemed moved by her lyrics.

This singer and song writer took time to talk with the crowd and genuinely admit her passion and admiration for Montreal. Lorde’s act was filled with classic singles and some of her most recent work, both combined in a perspective mix that never left anyone standing still for too long.
2. TCHAMI
Tchami made serious motion on Saturday when he came on after Cyril Hahn to set the mood with heavy tech house. He played some of his most famous remixes, which had the entire piknic crowd is hysterics. Tchami’s music in paramount in design and complexity, which is why I knew that this was going to be one of the best sets during Osheaga.

Tchami has created a massive stir in the blogosphere in under just one year, partially due to his notorious mixes. A true magician behind decks, his show at Osheaga confirmed all rumours about this mastermind. Moving around on all tempos and with a diverse series of songs, he flowed with practically perfect transition.
3. Artic Monkeys
Artic Monkey shook Sunday on the final day with extreme force and passion. The last to perform, the band set the mood with their authentic style of rock. This band had the main stage field completely stuffed shoulder to shoulder, as Sunday was the only sold out single day.

The set was evidentially extraordinary with almost no interruption in-between songs and a smooth flow throughout. “Do You Know I Am” opens the Artic Monkeys latest album and opened their entire set on a terrifying beat. There was a fair balance between the songs, which were old and new with an emphasis on their last album.
4. Gesaffelstein
This producer from France certainly set the tone Tuesday, as his eerie style of techno turned daylight into a darkened dance floor. Using acid stabs and bass crunching synths, Gesaffelstein was easily one of the electronic highlights on the second day of Osheaga.
Gesaffelstein’s set never lost it’s underlying intensity, as the French DJ barely looked upon while he worked behind tables. In classic SebastiAn style, he lit himself a cigarette before delivering the release of dopamine that everyone had been waiting for on the track “Control Movement”.
5. Skrillex
There is no question that Skrillex’s performance on Friday night drew in a mass frenzy of dub-awaiting fans. From drenched bros in tank tops to the undoubtable elderly, Skrillex managed to draw tens of thousands of people to come hear his diverse array of a musical set list.

He played several new and unreleased songs that proved this musician has a secret chest of material biding time before it is released. Taking the Molson Canadian stage by full storm and flame, he wreaked havoc with a soundscape all over the board, something truly signature Sonny.
