The Complete and Official Lineup To OSHEAGA 2015 is Out
The Official OSHEAGA artist line up is finally released and once again there is an impressive mix of multinational artists.
Summer is finally on the horizon of tomorrow and what follows is a series of outdoor festivals. OSHEAGA always creates a big commotion beforehand because of the event’s capability to appeal to a mass appeal of music. Last year saw 135,000 attendees over all three days collectively.
The festival is sprawled out all over Parc Jean-Drapeau and will take place at six separate stages this year. Last year consisted of five stages, two major shells side-by-side swapping between headliners. The smaller stages are scattered in the park with various activities, booths, and art pieces interwoven between.
The beautiful setting on Helen’s Island in Montreal creates the perfect atmosphere in the middle of summer. OSHEAGA takes place on the turning point of a month this year, running from July 31st to August 2nd.
The event is produced and presented by evenko, but also promoted by sponsors such as Virgin Mobile, Canadian Molson, Smirnoff, and more. This year is the 10th Anniversary of OSHEAGA and the team behind the festival intends to make it particularly special.
The first ten musical acts were revealed in mid-February as a celebratory top 10 piece of news to start building public attention. The list included Canadian artist Caribou, Norwegian producer Kygo, Run The Jewels, and more.
Just last week saw the release of another creative piece of promotion through a mobile game titled “The Road To Osheaga!” Future festival attendees can purchase the mobile app and play a driving game where each level offered a series of artists to perform. The game was developed by a Montreal video game producing company called Behaviour Interactive.
Some major rap names released were Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, G-Easy and more. Last year’s headliners, The Black Keys, will be reappearing along side Hot Chip, Weezer, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, and several other bands.
The electronic lineup is certainly slacking this year, but it seems reasonable with the emergence of several strictly EDM festivals in the last year alone. Needless to say, RL Grime, Oliver Heldens, Brodinski, Chet Faker, Ten Walls, Klangkarussell, and Robin Schulz will all be playing.
Finally, after the long wait from last year’s summer, OSHEAGA reveals the entire lineup with over one hundred bands listed. Check out the full festival poster below to see all upcoming musicians.
