Chef À L’Érable Is The Place To Sugar Shack In The City

Maple syrup and all things meaty

Spring is finally upon us and a new season means a new batch of food traditions are back. Sugar shacking is a must every year, but you won’t have to go far out of town this time around to get your dose of maple and ham.

Chef à L’érable is a delicious 5 course meal inspired by the whole sugar shacking experience but elevating it. Taking place at the beautiful old port restaurant Scena right on the Quai Jacques Cartier, you won’t be disappointed whether by the tasty dishes or the unique experience. The whole event revolves around you enjoying great dishes from the creative menu put together by no other than chef Laurent Godbout himself.

From the succulent smoked meat eggrolls to the stunning oysters, the meat course was one of the most outstanding. Between the pork cheeks that were braised to perfection and the flavourful baby back ribs, it was very difficult to leave room for dessert.

It’s a good thing we did because the 4 different sweet recipes are absolutely divine; the bombolone with maple and yuzu as well as the “créclair” with praline are both showstoppers.

This year is the 3rd installment, which will run from March 11 to April 17 and features a festive atmosphere where you will be able to take your taste buds on a journey around the globe through several earthy plates.
