If Bouncers Don’t Follow These 5 Golden Rules They Suck And Should Be Fired
Yes, some of them actually want you to feel safe
I admit, we all have a love/hate relationship with bouncers and security guards at events, clubs and bars.
We expect them to keep everyone in check, but when they start interfering, things can get a little crazy and we blame them for not being able to handle the situation without creating commotion.
However, when you stumble upon a guy who understands the essence of his job and his role in at the venue, your night may end up going better than expected.
In the end, all we want is a team of professionals looking out for our safety and that of others around us, allowing everyone to relax and have a good time.
As Shiftgig listed it, here are 5 ways your bouncer should behave to be considered efficient and not just a tool who likes to go on power-trips.
1- Protecting Their Staff
The good ones will protect bartenders against any rude and annoying drunk clients turning into intense creeps. A good bouncer can even lend a helping hand with glasses on tables. His goal is to make sure the bartender can do his job and isn’t harassed.
2- Proper Capacity Management
Great bouncers managing the lineup and club capacity understand the danger and discomfort of a crowded venue. If the club is packed to its full legal capacity, he’ll stop it there, instead of trying to break the record of the hottest club temperature. That way, everyone can enjoy their night without having to constantly deal with people pushing to try to get from the bar to the bathroom.
3- Does Not Fight
A good security guard doesn’t participate in a fight, he stops it. We’ve all witnessed the annoying yet common situation: two guys kick-start a fight and the bouncers try to show them who’s boss by jumping in and taking part in the madness, creating more madness. Normally, the first reflex should be to eliminate the danger by removing the threat so everyone can go back to having a good time.
4- Control of their environment
Nice bouncers will also be in control of their environment, which means the sidewalk and street. If someone falls face first on the ground, they will be there to help a little, and if a group of youngsters decide to start trashing the surroundings, they will also help by intervening. They are responsible of the reputation of the club/bar and will try their best to diminish the number of times a cop car stops by.
5- Does Not Drink
And of course, to be able to accomplish all of this, a good bouncer doesn’t drink while on the job. He needs to be fully alert and ready if he is needed by the staff, which means it’s not the time for him to make a move on a cute girl at the bar while doing shots, and let’s be honest we’ve all seen that happen before.
If the bouncers at the nightclub you frequent, work at, or even own do not respect these golden rules they should be fired immediately.
Did we miss anything? Do you have any horror story to share with us?
