Digital Dreams Reveals First Full Look At Festival Lineup

The official artist lineup to Toronto’s major EDM festival is finally revealed to the public. Digital Dreams takes place on June 27th to 28th this summer.

Last year’s lineup up saw legends such as Justice, Luciano, Tiesto, Andy C, Claude Von Stroke, and Eric Prydz all perform. The total lineup this year seems less impressive at first when considering the lack of high profile DJs that stacked last year’s event.

Yet this would be to confuse popularity with authenticity because almost every artist performing this year is recognized for their talent behind decks. Yellow Claw’s pure energy on any stage, Datsik’s discography of dubstep and filth, and John Digweed’s history as a house hero should be all the evidence you need.

The management behind Digital Dreams decided to separate the festival into three major stages, which are Echo Beach, Barcardi Triangle, and Bud Light Dream. Armin Van Buuren, Zedd, Carl Cox, Pete Tong, and Excision all take the forefront position as headliners each day.

Last year had four stages, the missing link being a trance haven known as Fantasy Land. The reason Digital Dreams has taken out this fourth option is highly likely due to the construction work being done on Ontario Place.  It’s an unfortunate loss to see since last year’s Fantasy Land scene provided a more relaxed and calmer atmosphere than main stage.

There are still several names yet to be released on the lineup, particularly at the Barcardi Triangle stage on day one. The real highlight here momentarily is Swedish duo Galantis, whose sound has yet to fully hit the masses in North America.

The second stage still to see any real support is Pete Tong’s Echo Beach stage on day two. I do not doubt however that anyone will be disappointed with the other artists to be announced. Pete Tong and his personal connections lie deep in the music industry as BBC Radio 1’s host. There is undeniably good news still to come.

The Canadian support is impressive considering the skilled DJs to make a serious commotion on both days of the event. Montreal musicians Paris & Simo will be playing at Bud Light Dream the opening day and are not to be missed. Another duo from Montreal is Adventure Club who will bring the bass to the Bud Light Dream stage second day. Toronto natives Dr. Ozi will also be playing an slew of heavy tracks to the public.

Digital Dreams is always able to attract a diverse list of international and multitalented artists every year. 2015 is no different and the impressive roaster of acts coming to Toronto this summer is guaranteed to spark attention.
