Le Blumenthal : Enjoy refined flavours while helping the culture in the city
Food, shows and a good time
During the summer, Montreal is a vibrant destination when it comes to food and festivals. Countless happenings became classics over the years, while others are created every season to match the never-ending demand. Le Blumenthal just opened in what used to be Le Balmoral inside the Maison du Festival, and the concept of the establishment is nothing short of promising.

Located at 305 Sainte-Catherine West and open from 12 to 12, this new brasserie is perfect for a business lunch, cocktails after work, a friendly gathering or to grab a bite on the terrace before/after a show. It offers an intricate menu that will allow you to take a trip down memory lane through diverse dishes and interesting flavours, 7 days a week. Fantastic pairing of flavours and balance in every dish while being simple enough to not hide behind the gorgeous plating.
Enjoy a delicious meal from the renowned chef Remi Brunelle (Leméac, Albert bistro) paired with wine carefully selected by Jean Benoit Hinse in the heart of the Quartie des Spectacles. The elegant but casual décor comes from the Gauley Brothers’ classy vision: a modern and sophisticated feel in a well-balanced mix of urban and rural ambiance.

What’s very interesting is that fact that Le Blumenthal will continue to be a “non-profit” restaurant: the extra profit generated will contribute to the financing of multiple free activities from the Maison du Festival. Have a good time and eat succulent food while helping the organization put the music and culture forward.

The team behind it brings big talent to the table; Sarah Bergeron (Auberge Saint-Gabriel), Nicolas Urli (Flyjin, Hà, Jatoba) and Paolo Di Pietrantonio (CPA, associate at Horwath HTL), all coming together to work closely and partner with the Maison du Festival.
Right next to the Festival scene, the space is actually a historical building which used to be occupied by the menswear line Blumenthal & Sons, before becoming the Maison du Festival. The edifice also houses venues such as L’Astral and the médiathèque Jazz/La Presse+ from the International Jazz Fest.
