Restaurant Cyr : Enjoy Private Vodka Tastings at the Only Ice Bar in the City
In a city like Montreal that is saturated in restaurants (not that we’re complaining), it is exceptionally hard for establishments to differentiate themselves from the other in the eye of the client. Often enough, they try to offer a diverse experience all under one roof to make it easier for patrons that wish to spend their full night out at the same spot. Cyr in St-Henri has put its unique twist on this idea, offering in one location a place to have dinner in a great decor, followed by a private vodka tasting in their famous below zero ice bar.

Located at 3426 Notre-Dame West in St-Henri, Cyr impresses the minute you walk in thanks to its luxury chic but cozy decor and the awesome playlist. A cocktail bar that offers a menu composed of classics with a twist, you are certain to find something to intrigue your palate. From a deconstructed BLT to poke nachos and a pumpkin crème brûlée, the menu revisits beloved dishes by adding an intricate element of originality that generally hits the mark.

The ice bar is the main attraction there that differentiates the restaurant from all the others in the city. A room downstairs has been turned into a complete ice kingdom where patrons can taste over 30 vodkas privately imported. Ice on the walls, the bar is made of ice, everything is frozen down there but don’t you worry – they provide the winter coats if needed so you can truly enjoy the experience.
What is also so unique about that ice bar is the fact that it runs all year long, not just in the winter. Yes you read that right. No matter if it’s +30 or -30 outside, you can always go to Cyr and have a drink surrounded by nothing but ice and booze. It’s a great activity very fun for a group but it’s also available for duos.

Considering the location and the type of establishment, pricepoint is decent and fair for the portion and the neighborhood. There are some dishes that also are great for sharing, which is always a bonus. Whether you’re on a date or amongst a group of friends, sharing plates allows for more discoveries of more tasty food.

Design really added to the experience there, in our opinion. The metal gold accents with the dark velvet really brings a sultry vibe to the place, kind of like a lounge where you eat a full meal but stay to enjoy the night with more drinks and maybe a visit to the ice bar. You feel engulfed in a classy but warm atmosphere when stepping foot in Cyr, which makes it a great versatile destination.
