Thursday’s Is Finally Reopening On Crescent This Spring
A Second Chance For Thursday’s Resto Bar ?
Yes finally! The renowned destination in the heart of downtown montreal will soon be welcoming you again to kickback and enjoy the vibrant summer nights the city has to offer.
What exactly happened?
Back in september 2012, Thursday’s shutting down its activities certainly didn’t go unnoticed. Between its usual clientele and employees, the popular 40 year old institution known for attracting Alouettes and Habs players caused some commotion when they decided to close their doors. The notorious company who bought the resto-bar as well as the Hotel de la Montagne was none other than Selfridges, owner of the high-end boutique Ogilvy, and they had plans for it. Initially, the promoters working on the new development envisioned condos and a hotel, but the project didn’t end up going through.
What’s to come?
When asked about the transaction, Torrance Ragueneau said both parties, his family and Selfridges, were really happy with the final outcome. The important thing is, Thursday’s will reopen to everyone’s contentment and it’ll be better than ever. Around 100 staff members will be hired to work in the resto-bar (and they’re still hiring if you were wondering). According to Torrance Raguenau, the general idea of the place is going to be a little more simple, but the classics will still be on the menu, ready to make you take a trip down memory lane! The reopening of Thursday’s on Crescent street has long been awaited, and is expected for spring 2014, which means the big night is around the corner. Stay tuned!
