8 Dishes To Order At Montreal’s Sushi Restaurant Maiko On Bernard
Delicious sushi in Outremont
Sushi is easily one of my favourite foods. More specifically; I really like fresh rolled maki served with a variety of sweet dipping sauces.
I’m always on the hunt for new delicious sushi restaurants. Lucky me, Maiko Sushi is one of the restaurants that fell upon my radar after hearing about it countless times from friends and family.
Located at 387 Rue Bernard Ouest in the heart Outremont, Maiko Sushi is a sushi fanatics dream come true. The restaurant is a family owned and operated business; Madame Maiko runs the Outremont location while her son runs the West-Island location.
At the helm of the operation is the owner & executive chef Madame Maiko who has more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry.

Maiko Sushi is the kind of place that makes you feel at home with a warm yet professional service and a very friendly front of house staff.
To give soul to a space is no easy task. We have worked at it continually since the opening of Maiko Sushi in 1997. Ambiance, hospitality and the small details – they all matter to us.
Maiko Sushi is mostly known as a sushi restaurant but does not limit itself to only sushi dishes. Their menu has a variety of asian inspired dishes that will take your taste buds on a flavourful journey.
With 40 different specialty homemade sauces, Madame Maiko has an arsenal of flavours to accompany any type of fish or meat you might find yourself ordering.
Without further ado, here are 8 awesome dishes you can expect to find on the Maiko menu.
1- Delices Des Neiges; Chilean Sea Bass
The Chilean sea bass is marinated in miso sauce, then chargrilled and served with seasonal vegetables.

2- The Seafood Platter
The seafood platter is not on the menu but something you can ask the chef for. The platter is made from a variety of the freshest fish available and from Madame Maiko’s most creative efforts. This platter contains Kaimin Tai (acupuncture pink snapper from japan), Torauto (trout from Norway), Katsuo (bonito which is a very small tuna), Ika (squid served slightly burned topped with caviar) and much more.

3- Delices Maiko
The Delices Maiko maki roll is made with fried crab, rolled in a soy leaf, coated with tuna and avocado slices, and served with a creamy truffle oil sauce.

4- Grilled Rack of Lamb
The grilled rack of lamb is drizzled with Maiko’s sauce and served with seasonal vegetables.

5- Maiko’s Seafood Salad
The Maiko Seafood Salad is a mix of raw fish, fresh herbs, and a sweet yet sour sauce made from mandarin juice.

6- Lobster Sashimi
Half-coked lobster in a jalapeño-spiced yuzu-mayonnaise, served with pomelo supremes, tobiko, raspberries, Japanese crispy rice and shallots.

7- Scallop Mizo
Seared scallops served in a truffle oil & miso-taro sauce, and topped with a chunk of truffle.

8- Fried Banana
A classic Asian dessert, the deep fried banana is flambeed in front you at the table.
