5 Best Coffee Shops In Montreal 2015

Coffee is the perfect drink for when you want to catch up with a friend, for when you have a business meeting or for when you just want to curl up around a great book.

So for all you coffee aficionados out there, here are 5 of the best coffee shops in Montreal.

1- Café Olimpico

Address: 124 Rue St-Viateur Ouest, Montréal, QC

Situated in the Mile End, Café Olimpico is a very renown coffee shop amongst Montrealers.

Opened in 1970, it is one of the city’s best kept secret that is, in fact, not so secret anymore! With an Italian inspiration and a unique ambiance, this little gem wins over many hearts. What it’s known for though is the caffè freddo, it is out of this world, especially during a hot summer day.

But let’s be honest, whether it’s hot or cold, I guarantee that you will want it anyway! Plus, there’s no such thing as “lost in translation” when it comes to their coffee menu. Short and sweet does the trick!

If you’re downtown, out and about and looking for a quick place to grab a latte after a long shopping day, Myriad is the place to go. It is definitely not the biggest of coffee shops, but the brew is excellent and the staff very friendly.

Also, they offer a variety of viennoiseries. To be able to enjoy the full experience, you should visit this shop during the summer or when the terrace is open. The vibe is different and the iced coffees, amazing!

Basically, Pikolo is the definition of a real good coffee. All of their coffees being single origin, you can be sure that it is, in a sense, unique.

The place itself is very simple and quaint. Everything is either homemade or locally produced which just makes it that much better! Do not walk, run! It is well worth the jog… and coffee.

5- Caffè Italia

Address: 6840 Boulevard Saint-Laurent, Montréal, Qc
Phone: (514) 495-0059

Nobody does “caffè” like the Italians do. Situated in Little Italy, Caffè Italia is well worth the detour. The espresso is so creamy and goes down so smoothly it can almost be considered a sin.

And don’t even get me started on the cappuccino, it is to die for! The vibe is very authentic and the decor, rustic. Some even say old school italian. What makes this place stand out the most is the fact that you can either be sipping on coffee beside Gino Vanelli or on Sundays, witness the older italian men talk about soccer.
