Some Cool Happenings Going On Around Montreal in March and April

With us going into spring and the weather getting warmer, it provides the best excuse to go out and experience more and more events that are taking place around the downtown/old port area. With several establishments coming up with their own ideas and stuff being added every week as we get closer to the summer, here is a small list of what’s going on in March and April at some of your favorite spots in the city.

Maggie Oakes’ Urban Sugar Shack Experience
When : March 20th to April 5th
The yearly classic with a twist. This will be the reinvention of the traditional dishes inspired by everyone’s favourite Canadian tradition: the urban sugar shack. Gather up your friends and bring yourself back to nostalgic taste of grandma’s cooking by treating yourself to the sweetest meal in town.
This delectable dining experience is available with a reservation for groups of ten or more people, a group table d’hôte shared menu experience, or individual table d’hôte menus from $34 to $66 per person. These menus will bring you back to your childhood all while maintaining the elegance of the beloved Maggie Oakes.

Jacopo’s Thursday Degustazione
When : Every Thursday

The boozy brunches are back! Happening at Méchant Boeuf every weekend, there’s a special musical brunch extravaganza that takes place the final weekend of each month. Expect bottomless mimosas, a $17 brunch table d’hôte, and all your favourite tunes!

Maggie Oakes’ Wine Club
When : last Tuesday of each month
If you’ve ever wanted to try new wines but not known where to start, Maggie Oakes’ Wine Club is the perfect place to go. The club follows different themes each month, from Canadian wine, to orange wine, to the ultimate wine rivalry: Napa vs Bordeaux.
Each session will feature four wines, with Maggie Oakes’ sommelier and invited wine experts imparting their knowledge on the wines’ production, origin and notes. Guests will also be treated to delicious bite-sized food pairings to complement the featured wine. The best part is, much of the wine featured during the Wine Clubs is available by private import only but can be purchased to take home!

HideSeek Pop-Up
When : Until March 29th
Not a food activity, but something super unique! HideSeek invites guests of all ages to rediscover the carefree spirit of childhood play, as they explore 45 minutes of whimsy and imagination. The pop-up is produced by a team of designers, artists and dreamers who have curated each interaction to be reminiscent of playful childhood activities.
The space is comprised of over 12 multi-dimensional rooms, each made up of installations that will captivate guests on their self-guided tour. Visitors will enter a world of lingering bliss as they wander through a glow-in-the-dark galaxy filled with 10,000 stars and get cozy in a larger-than-life-size pillow fort to relive the comfort of youth. Every corner of HideSeek is guaranteed to excite in person and impress in photos, with rooms bursting with bubbles and floor-to-ceiling slinkies that have a life of their own.
