10 Reasons Every Montrealer Needs To Travel Down To Escapade Music Festival
June has finally arrived which can only mean one thing for festival-goers. Escapade Music Festival 2014 is just around the corner and this year is a big one, marking their 5th year anniversary with heavy hitting lineups, great performances and upgraded stage productions, which will surely not disappoint. We’ve rounded up the 10 reasons why going to Escapade 2014 will be worth your while.
1- Canada day Celebrations
What better way to celebrate Canada Day than in the capital itself? Not only is the festival happening on the weekend before July 1st, but they even got you covered on Canada Day itself for one of the coolest parties ever. Happening downtown Ottawa, you get to see a special line up including none other than Dada Life; insane Canada Day party guaranteed.

2- Not far from Montreal and affordable
Located just a few minutes away from downtown Ottawa, Escapade is only a short two hours road trip from Montreal. On top of that, the festival is affordable. Two-day general admission tickets are now $139 (plus fees and taxes). A VIP ticket is $199, which includes many exclusive perks such as a private entrance and bathrooms, souvenirs, as well as in and out privileges.
3-The Headliners
This year’s headliners are bigger than ever. They include some major DJs who have done big shows or tours this year that you might have missed. If you didn’t get to see Kaskade during his Redux tour, Dada Life at their Dada Land Compound show, or won’t get to see Eric Prydz’s Epic 3.0 show at Madison Square Garden, this is your chance to see all three of them and more!

4- Local Montreal DJs Featured
This year, Escapade partnered up with Circus to bring some of your favourite DJs to the festival. Among them are Uppercut, Raneem, Rob Naylor, and Etienne Ozborne. On Canada Day, you can also see Domeno, a local Montreal DJ producer with an important number of tracks signed with none other than Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings.
5- The “Club Series”
On June 30th, Escapade has planned not one, but 5 different events in different clubs around the city. As mentioned in #2, the festival is happening on the weekend before Canada Day (June 28-29), and to keep the party going, they rounded up some of your favourite DJs; Borgeous, The Stafford Brothers, Simon Patterson, Alex Metric, Victor Calderone, and Figure.

6- 5th Year Anniversary
This year marks Escapade Music Festival’s 5th year anniversary. As time passes, the festival organizers have had time to adjust and make all the changes necessary to provide a better festival experience for everyone. The fifth anniversary also means a bigger festival, with an incredible lineup and a lot more cool things for everyone to celebrate!

7- Stage Production and Different Areas
Every single day will include 3 different sections, including the main stage on both days. On day 1, you can also find “The Deep End” section, for all the deep house lovers, as well as the “GoldRush Arena” section hosted by none other than Ben Gold where you can see all your favourite trance DJs. Day 2 includes the “Temple of Bass” section which will please all the bass heads, and of course the “Tech Fusion Tent” section where you will be able to see the biggest tech house DJs. On top of these sections, expect a huge production. Fireworks, confetti, fire cannons, and performers, to only name a few!

8- Free Water Stations
An important source of issues in the past years among festivals has been access to water. Following the footsteps of other international electronic dance music festivals, Escapade has set up free water stations to respond to the popular demand from their festival goers. When partying in the sun and heat all day, the most important thing is to stay hydrated!

9- Bigger Grounds
By changing their location to an area with no less than 35 acres of grassy land, the festival promises bigger and more elaborate stage productions than ever before. All that space also leaves more room for more stages every day, as well as being able to welcome more people than before. Another advantage? By being further away from the city, you can get the full “weekend away for a festival” experience.

10- Elevated VIP
Like we mentioned before, a VIP ticket gets you many different perks. At the price of $199, you want to get the best view, which is made possible by an elevated VIP section and viewing deck. No more crazy crowds and blocked views!

10.5- The GoldRush Experience
The GoldRush stage is hosted by Ben Gold himself. Not only did he put the lineup together, including some of his and your favorite trance DJs, but he also came up with his own stage production and visuals to ensure you have the ultimate experience.
