Escapade Music Festival presented by Heineken is almost upon us on June 27th and 28th.

Every major festival has it’s bittersweet moments. Schedule collisions between DJ sets is annoying, but knowing who you want to see in the right order can save you stress off site.

Canada Nightlife recommends these ten DJs who would be the best to see live during both days of Escapade.

John Digweed

The Bedrock Records mastermind is a legend in his own right. The talented and tasteful John Digweed treated Montrealers this winter season at Igloofest. He has earned himself a superior reputation for being able to throw down techno sets unheard of before. Digweed is sure to bring his own British Bedrock flavour to Escapade for welcoming hearts.

Knife Party’s iconic sounding shredded bass and shrill synths are what make them stick out. The duo have been busy in the studio with the recent release of their new album Abandoned Ship. You can expect to hear a ferocious amount of heavy bass and bouncing melodies from singles like “Boss Mode” and “Resistance”.

Don Diablo

Don Diablo’s musical transformation has gone from electronic productions to future house music. Having experience remixing everyone from Ed Sheeran, Madonna, and Tinie Tempa, it is safe to say Don Diablo has learned how to master his music. The notorious playboy status and melodic magic make an impressive combination for live shows.   

Armin Van Buuren

This Dutch DJ and producer has claimed number 1 on DJ Mag’s top list four years consecutively before. His house style and signature synths make him shine on any festival lineup. Armin Van Buuren is headlining the Sunday of and is expected to rouse himself a huge following. If you manage to see Armin’s set at  main stage, then be assured to hear progressive trance music. 

Carl Cox

Carl Cox is known for his incredible style and suave while swerving on stage with multiple CDJs. He’s a international celebrity who has partied during some of Europe’s hottest summers to date. The music he makes sounds melodically good and you can’t help feel hypnotized during his techno set. Carl Cox hosts his classic Carl Cox and Friends stage with Digweed, Marco Bailey, Uppercut, and others playing.    




Jauz

Jauz

The blooming producer from L.A named Jauz is keeping the bass community happy in every right way. Release after release has been non stop fire from his production kitchen, pumping gritty wobbles and stuttering bass lines out from his mixer. His opening set for Kill The Noise at Escapade will be certified friction with non stop bangers. 

Dyro

The Revealed Recordings Dutch prodigy has been releasing quality music for the past few years alongside Hardwell. After touring alongside Hardwell on several expeditions, he’s learned a thing or two about live performances. Dyro’s energy is renown and consistent through nearly all of his live sets and Daftastic Radio shows.

Prok & Fitch consist of two cool friends who have found a way to make music and tour the world. They produce house music with a emerging style that stems uniquely from their creative tuition together. They are signed to Toolroom Records and are opening for Mark Knight on June 27th. Their live set consists of slow moving techno tones that take hold of your energy temporally.

Mark Knight is curating his own Toolroom Live stage on June 27th and hosting several other artists to showcase a diverse side of the label.
